Twisted Taco

Twisted Taco is a bar and restaurant franchise originally created as a relaxed alternative to the upscale club scene around Crescent avenue in Midtown Atlanta.  The environment at Twisted Taco is fun and the decorations are based on a wild west theme.  Drinks are plenty, and the food is good with a strong Southwest influence.  As the name Twisted Taco suggests, there are many varieties of tacos and they are all excellent.

The Challenge

Twisted Taco needed a totally custom website design that precisely matched the funky decor of their restaurants.  Twisted also needed a matching email newsletter template to communicate information about weekly events and specials and a photo gallery to share pictures of the festivities.  As with most of our customers, Twisted Taco’s vision was much bigger than their budget.

Our Solution

We spent a lot of time watching “spaghetti western” footage, and looking at wild west wanted posters to get in the proper state of mind for the Twisted Taco website design process.  It seemed that in many westerns, a bar (or saloon) usually features groups of guys sitting at round tables playing poker and drinking assorted liquor.  There are usually guns on everyone’s hip and challenges to meet outside at “high noon” are usually only a scene away.  We felt that of all these themes, poker was the least morbid and something we could work with.  We added a few flash elements, the required photo gallery and email newsletter features.  The site was built using a content management system to allow Twisted Taco to make frequent updates.
